Husky’s Community Investment program supports charitable organizations in the regions where it operates.


Husky works with municipal, First Nations and business leaders, as well as charitable organizations to identify community needs. The community investment program builds and strengthens meaningful relationships.

Priority funding areas include education and training, health and wellness, and community building initiatives.

Education

Husky hires graduates and tradespeople with an understanding of the industry. To help ensure qualified candidates, investments are made in science and technology programs at colleges and universities, and to introduce skilled trades and science and technology careers to youth.

In funding scholarships and program development there is a focus on providing women and Aboriginal students with opportunities for careers in the energy sector.

Husky provides a number of scholarships and bursaries at colleges and universities in areas where it operates, which are managed by the individual academic institutions.

Health

Health facilities and programs are essential to a healthy, sustainable community. Husky’s investments in health and wellness include preventive education and training, outreach programs and research, and investing in equipment for hospitals and health centres that support physical and mental health initiatives.

Husky supports a wide range of health and wellness initiatives, including:

  • Canadian Cancer Society, Newfoundland and Labrador education and training outreach

Community Building

Husky funds charitable organizations that help create vibrant communities through their programming and support. Initiatives include assisting at-risk populations, and supporting First Nations culture, arts and culture, and environmental initiatives.
